Paul C. Hemmes developed a fondness for film at an early age, which was fired by both his paternal grandfather’s flair with home movies and his first screening of Squirm in 1976. After graduating from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications in 1992, Paul started his first production facility, EVOLUTION PRODUCTIONS (1993 to 1999).
Heavily Influenced by the work of John Carpenter, Paul has always gravitated toward character-driven suspense cinema. “The Domain”, which represents his directorial debut, reflects his personal vision of human vulnerability and political failings.
“The Domain” was produced under the banner of FANCY LAD FILMS, a new multimedia production company formed in 2005. Paul has incorporated the latest IndieFilm Digital Video Technology while maintaining an “Organic” film. His other accomplishments include a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from the University of Phoenix and he has been involved with several other local productions in various capacities.
