This template generates an abbreviation for reign or the Latin, rexit: शा॰ By default the abbreviation is marked with <abbr>.

Syntax What it looks like Notes
{{Reign}} 1325–1350 शा॰ 1325–1350 Default style; line break allowed between "शा॰" and "1325–1350"; normal-width space
{{Reign|1325|1350}} शा॰ 1325 – 1350 Default style: no line break allowed; thin space
{{Reign|1325|1350|i=yes}} शा॰ 1325 – 1350 With italic "r.", though italics are discouraged at WP:YEAR
{{Reign|1325|1350|lk=abbr}} शा॰ 1325 – 1350 With abbreviation marking only (default)
{{Reign|1325|1350|lk=yes}} शा॰ 1325 – 1350 With link only
{{Reign|1325|1350|lk=no}} r. 1325 – 1350 With neither link nor abbreviation marking
{{Reign|1325|1350|cap=yes}} शा॰ 1325 – 1350 Starting with capital letter

If the parameter |lk= (for "link") is set as "|lk=no" or "|lk=off", the abbreviation is rendered as "r.", without a wikilink or abbreviation element. If it is set to "|lk=abbr", it is rendered with the abbreviation element but without the wikilink. If it is set to "|lk=yes" or "|lk=on", it is rendered as "शा॰", with a wikilink to the Reign article and not an abbreviation element. Otherwise, the abbreviation is marked with the "<abbr>" element, as in "शा॰", and linked to the Reign article. The lk parameter can be used to avoid overuse of "<abbr>" or overlinking when this template is used repeatedly in the body of an article. A convenient way of doing this is to use {{Reign}} the first time, and {{r.}} thereafter. For example:

  • [[Augustus]] ({{Reign|27 BCE|14 CE}}}} was an emperor of [[Rome]].
    Augustus (शा॰ 27 BCE – 14 CE}} was an emperor of Rome.

If the parameter "cap=yes" is specified, the result starts with a capital letter.

{{reign}} can be replaced with the redirects:
